His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf was sworn-in as the Executive Governor of Kano State on May 29, 2023 having scored the highest number of votes and having satisfied all necessary requirements of the law as explicitly enshrined in the 2022 Electoral Act as amended.

The State capital had witnessed the most largest political gathering ever where people came from every nooks and crannies of the country to be part of this epoch making swearing-in ceremony.

In the build up to the general election, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had on many occasions during the campaign rallies across the state promised to consolidate on the gains that have been recorded by his Political mentor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso bordering on free and compulsory education, medical service delivery for all, security and welfare of the teeming populace, agriculture, water supply and youth employment and empowerment programmes as part of his administration’s commitment to human capital development.

Immediately after the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf swung into action by embarking on an on the spot assessment visit by traveling all the way to Kiru reformatory school. The purpose of the visit was to assess the condition of the school in preparation for the full utilisation of the institution to combat drug abuse, thuggery, phone snatching, juvenile delinquency and many other anti social tendencies across the state.

It is equally important to NOTE that in just under 100 days, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was able to accomplish many of the campaign promises because he has appointed his Commissioners, MDs, Heads of Parastatals and other key Political appointments as early as possible and based on merit, competence and sheer commitment to the cause.
