Residents of Kano state Saturday complies with the state Government’s no movement order issued.
The state government gave the order through its Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs Baba Halilu Dantiyi, mni to allow smooth conduct of the state’s local government election.
This reporter observe high level of compliance to the order as streets remain empty while prospective voters are moving to their various polling stations mostly on foot due to lack vehicle movement.
Officials of the State Electoral Commission, KANSIEC were also seen moving electoral material to various polling units.
So far, there has been no any report of any ugly incident in the state as government officials in the state have expressed optimism the election will be peaceful.
However, security officials were also observed to keeping away from polling units as ordered by Justice Simon Amobeda of the Federal High Court Kano.
