Kano sets to stimulate Grassroot Economy

Kano State Government has revealed efforts are in top-gears to stimulate grassroot economy for stable growth.

The Honorable Commissioner of Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Muhammad Tajo Othman stated this yesterday in Kano.

He said, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed all the 44 Local Government Area Chairmen in the state to embark on meaningful projects such as Constructions of feeder roads, classrooms, public toilets to combat open defecation and many more.

This projects, he said, will stimulate the economy in their various localities as materials and human labor needed for such works are supplied by the local people which means money will be in circulation, boosting the economy of the people.

Tajo further stated that, his Ministry will collaborate with the Chairmen in the state to ensure those at the grassroot benefit dividend of democracy without migrating to the urban area to earn a living.

The commissioner warned that the ministry has set up a monitoring team which will work day and night to ensure projects initiated by any chairman is carried out in accordance to acceptable standards.

Muhammad added that the era of using substandard materials for projects are over in Kano and any one found wanting will face the law.
