Edo Killings: Kano Gov. Abba Kabir Calls for Calm

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on the people of the state to remain calm following the killing of some Kano indigenes at Uromi, Edo State.

He made the call on Sunday during his Sallah broadcast to the people of the state.

According to him, the state government has since constituted a high power delegation with the mandate to visit the Kano community in Edo State and also visit Governor to ensure justice and compensation.

“Let me use this sallah occasion to condole with the people of Kano over the gruesome murder of some of our sons in Edo State”.

“I want to assure you all that our government will not relent at ensuring those behind the killings are brought to book and compensation for the lives lost fully paid.

“It is important to inform you that the governor of Edo State sent his condolences to the entire people of Kano yesterday when he called me and assured me that some of the suspects have since been arrested.

“I implore you to remain calm as we follow up on this unfortunate incident while we take measures to prevent future reoccurrence. While we hope our team will depart for Edo tomorrow to further discuss the issue.

“We must do all we can to maintain the peaceful coexistence enjoyed in Kano for stable growth and development”, he added.

The Governor, further greet the people at sallah calling for sustainance of all the good virtues of Ramadan most especially the spirit of forgiveness in order to foster peace.

He further called for support for his government as his administration remain steadfast at delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
