Police Command in the Federal Capital of Nigeria, Abuja has commenced investigation on the killers of a Boys Brigade camper, Johnson John, who was brutally murdered by suspected herdsmen in Zhayidna Village, Karshi.
John was attending a Boys’ Brigade camp at Zhayidna Village near Angwar Hakimi, Orozo, when the tragic event occurred.
The Chief of Igala in Orozo, Amadu Zachariah, told reporters that the Boys’ Brigade had organised a camp for its members but due to the threat of rain, the group moved to a nearby church.
Reports suggested that John and another leader of the group returned to retrieve their belongings when they were ambushed by suspected herdsmen.
Though one of the leader escaped, Johnson was pronounced dead at the Karshi General Hospital where he was rushed to.
Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the Commissioner of Police, (CP) Ajao Adewale, has since ordered a discreet investigation into the attack.
