Kano Popular Market, Kurmi suffers two Fire Outbreaks in a Row

Popular Kurmi market in Kano has recorded two fire incidents at three days interval according to the state fire service on Saturday.

The first incident was on the 15th while the latest was recorded during the early hours of 18th April, exactly at about 01:35 am.

According to the spokesperson of the Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the latest incident affected six shops in the market but the swift arrival of his men saved the situation as the fire was brought under control immediately.

“The fire was successfully contained, while remaining shops around the area and several items worth millions of Naira were saved during the operation”.

“No life was lost, and no injury was recorded during the operation “.

“Our department will investigate the cause of the two fire incidents to determine the real cause and to prevent future reoccurrence”, he added.
