Four travellers have again been reportedly killed in Edo state by men suspected to be vigilante members.

The victims, four youths, all hailed from Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi state were brutally murdered on the 2nd of November 2025 and the news just filtering into the media.

Blazon News Nigeria reports that the victims; Kebiru Sardauna, Umar Kadiri, Umohi Damodu Omobaje and one other person from Iyale until their death, were commercial motorcycle riders (Okada riders) in Bode, Edo state and were travelling from Bode en route Agenebode where they met their untimely end.

The four young men were said to be on their way to attend the burial of one of their colleague who died in an accident when they encountered a vigilante checkpoint who arrested them but were able to make calls initially, reporting the situation to their family members before their phones were seized.

Further Information obtained by this platform revealed, family members traced their phones through tracking to Osomegbe Quarters, behind Ogbaki Primary School Agenebode, Edo state and reported their missing to the police in Agenebode where they were allegedly informed that the vigilante group had killed the boys, allegedly due to concerns about kidnapping incidents in the area, and that they don’t want to see any strange faces in their area.

Although Blazon News Nigeria  could not obtain police’s reaction in the state as at the time of filing this report, however, a relative and family member of late Kebiru Sardauna, Abdulkarim Idachaba confirmed the killing of his cousin in a Facebook post, saying he will seek justice as soon as he recovers from his injuries as a result of accident.

Recall in late March 2025, where 16 travellers from Kano state were similarly and brutally killed after being wrongly accused of kidnapping at Uromi, Edo state which generated huge outcry and demand for justice.
