A newly wedded bride has gruesomely ended the life of her groom, nine days into their marriage.
The suspect, Saudat Jibril (18 years old) allegedly killed her 30 years old husband by cutting his throat, Police authorities confirmed.
The worrisome incident according to the spokesperson of the Police, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, occurred at Farawa Quarters, Kano, Northwest Nigeria at 12:35AM local time.
He added that despite swift efforts by a team of officers deployed to the scene to salvage the situation, the injured victim was pronounced dead by a medical personnel on duty at one of the hospitals in the state.
Kiyawa, a Supretendent of Police, further confirmed the arrest of the suspect whom he said is currently in custody at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section and will be charged to court for culpable homicide.
