Kano State Ministry of Finance has embarked on a three day organizational capacity assessment for it’s staff to upscale efficiency.
According to the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Ameen Kabeer Yassar, this is in line with the determination of the Honorable Commissioner, Dr. Isma’ila Aliyu Danmarya to equip workers under him with evolving skills and knowledge to perform effectively and efficiently.
The three-day Capacity Assessment programme is organized in conjunction with Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) Project, held in Zaria, Kaduna State,
“This assessment is not merely a procedural requirement, it is a strategic way for the continued growth and effectiveness of our Ministry.
Danmaraya maintained that in a rapidly evolving financial landscape, the ability to adapt, innovate, and operate with utmost efficiency is paramount, which the training aims to provide.
“The objectives of the training include; identifying strengths, pinpointing gaps and developing a Targeted Institutional Development Plan.
The findings of this assessment will not be used to evaluate individuals, but rather to understand the collective capabilities of the Ministry as a whole.
The ultimate goal is to ensure that, we are well-equipped to meet the complex challenges of fiscal management, revenue generation, and economic development that focuses on building the Ministry as an institution”, he asserted.
According to the Commissioner, “The training and development programs that result from this assessment will be tailored to address the specific needs identified, ensuring that they are relevant, practical, and directly contribute to enhancing our collective effectiveness”.
He expressed optimism that the Organizational Capacity Assessment will serve as a catalyst for positive change, empowering the Ministry of Finance to deliver on its mandate with greater efficiency, transparency, and impact.
Dr. Isma’il appreciated the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) Project, for its invaluable support to the exercise, pointing out that the partnership has been instrumental in providing technical expertise and capacity building to his ministry and Kano State.
On his part, the Team lead, PACE, Auwalu Hamza assured that the project would continue to support the government of Kano state to achieve its development aspirations.
