The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has described a court order making the rounds against the Commission as fake and misleading.
Bashir Habibu Yahaya, Director Public Enlightenment, KANSIEC said the fake order circulated by some political parties in various platforms prohibiting the scheduled LG Polls for next month did not originate from any court and must be disregarded.
According to him, the attempt to cause confusion by the unscrupulous persons will neither discourage nor stop KANSIEC from conducting the election slated for 26th October 2026.
He added that the state like it’s other counterparts will conduct the Local Government Election in line with the provisions and guidelines contained in the constitution of the Federation.
Yahaya reaffirmed that all arrangements towards the successful conduct of the election have been concluded contestants who purchased the forms from the designated bank not to panic.
Further more, Bashir assured the commission will not hesitate to inform stakeholders and the general public of any development necessary in order to move on the same page.
