Ibrahim Bala is a 22 years-old indigene of Kano state from Bichi Local Government Area, who recently made the news after his invention.
In an interview with Blazon News Nigeria on Tuesday, the young tech inventor said, the invention is a result of years of creativity.
Background
Ibrahim Bala completed his secondary education a year ago from Government Secondary School, G.S.S Buden Gari, Bichi.
He is the first born of a family of five children consisting of two boys and three girls belonging to Alh. Bala muhammad and Hajiya Rahinatu haladu.
How it Started
According to Bala, he has been into creative activities, drawing and others since his early age and with time, his skills developed.
Over the years, he went into the designs of various models of cars, aeroplane and other technological adventures.
What he invented
A life saving eye glasses with the ability to keep drivers awake while on the steering, preventing doze off, a leading cause of numerous road crashes, claiming lives.
How it works
The glasses, equiped with ingenious motion sensor or dictator is powered by a battery and makes a loud beeping alarm immediately the driver’s eyes closes beyond seconds needed for a normal blink.
A normal human blink lasts between 0.1 to 0.4 seconds or 100 to 400 milliseconds. The glasses is set based on these settings and will alert the driver once he or she closes his or her eyes above this time.
It is an “Anti-sleep alarm eye glasses”
Why this recent Invention
According to Ibrahim, he has long pounder on an invention that saves lives.
The recent accident that claimed the lives of many athletes from the state while on their way back to the state after a game tournament further spurred him.
He hoped with this invention and when fully enhanced, issues of drivers dozing off while driving will be a thing of the past thereby an end to road crashes as a result of such.
Hopes and Aspirations
Though he has not received any form of technical training before, Bala aspires to do more through researches.
He told Blazon News his next dream is to become a renowned model designer for the car industry and even the aviation sector.
While he continues to exhibit his talents, Ibrahim, expressed optimism his inventions will one day be celebrated adopted world-wide.
