My Core interest is to Empower Kano People- Gov Abba Kabir

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reiterated his desire for the empowerment of the people of the state.

The Governor made this known today in Kano during the distribution of empowerment packages to some beneficiaries at Na’ibawa Quarters, Zaria Road Kano State under the Kano CARES Project.

Some Items distributed during the Occasion 

The Governor, represented by the state Commissioner of Planing and Budget, Musa Sulaiman Shanono said, since the inception of the present administration in the state, the desire of the Governor has been to empower his people especially the women, youth and the downtrodden.

He said, his government will not relent at touching the lives of the groups mentioned by ensuring it provides them with source of livelihood and also empowered them with necessary inputs, assets and capital where necessary.

The Commissioner revealed that the Governor is satisfied with the Kano CARES Programme and has therefore approved it’s renewal and continuation as a means of cushioning the effects of the economy for Kano people tagging it “Abba CARES”.

He charged them to make judicious use of the items received to improve their lives and those around them.

In his remarks, Ahmad Rufa’i, Delivery Head, Kano CARES Project said, the Project since 2021 has empowered numerous group of persons with the view to assisting them in improving their source of income.

Fertilisers and other Farm Inputs distributed

Items distributed include; solar powered sprayer, solar powered water pump, seeds, fertilisers grinding machines, popcorn making machines and many more.

Rufa’i added that those empowered include persons with disability in an attempt to ensure inclusiveness and hoped the recipient especially those who received farm inputs will help in bridging the gap in food production at a time the country is determined to strengthen food security.

Those who received the packages thanked Kano CARES Project, the Governor and other partners for the gesture praying the project will be sustained and reached out to more persons.
