Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has been accused of unseriousness about issues of governance as it concerns the state.

The outrage follows the governor’s decision to travel for this year’s Hajj along side his deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji.

Residents have accused the governor of not being serious with governance, claiming he had abandoned his responsibility alongside his deputy, leaving the people to their fate in the face of severe security challenges in the state.

Political parties from the opposition in the state have also expressed displeasure over the development, noting that the absence of the governor, deputy governor, Speaker and majority of members of the State Executive Council had paralyzed government activities.

Bago reportedly left the state without transmitting power to any official against constitutional provisions.
