Students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State took to the streets to protest the killing of their colleague by vigilantes on Sunday.
The victim, Sai’d Abdulkadir, a 400-level Agricultural Science student, was shot dead after the commercial motorcyclist transporting him allegedly refused to stop at a checkpoint mounted by the vigilantes.
Enraged by the killing, FUDMA students mobilised in large numbers and blocked the Dutsin-Ma–Katsina highway while chanting slogans, demanding justice for their slain colleague.
The motorcyclist who sustained severe injuries during the incident is currently receiving treatment according to reports.
