2023: Ayu Tasks PDP Social Media Handlers to Eschew Falsehood, Political Blackmail

The National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has tasked the party’s social media handlers to eschew falsehood, mischief and political blackmail.

Ayu urge them to use their various platforms to effectively communicate PDP’s message of hope, unity, restoration and development to the Nigerian public.

The Chairman who made the call in Kano yesterday while hosting a coalition of PDP Social Media Groups also assured them of maximum support and encouragement.

Iyorchia, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mal Yusuf Dingyadi, further urged them to take the highroad of truth.

“PDP will not tolerate or encourage use of lies, propaganda and mischief by any member of the party even if it’s to garner support for the party.

We are not a party of lies or perpetual propaganda – we are the party of ideas and development,” he said.

He further stated that, “We will, therefore, not allow use of lies or mischief by any of our social media handlers in order to market candidates of this great party.

Those of you with such ideas must change and blend in our journey.

“Our social media handlers should focus on unity, reconciliation and political cohesion by posting things that will improve the party’s electoral fortunes; not things that will hurt our reputation or hinder our membership drive ahead of 2023.”

Ayu, stressed that PDP candidates across the country were people of very qualified manners and positive background who enjoys massive goodwill from the public, and did not need lies to win their various elections.

Speaking earlier, the Coordinator of Kano State Social Media Group, Malam Farouk Abba Labaran, assured the national chairman and the national working committee of the PDP with their unflinching loyalty, support, with a vow to help the party win the presidency, take control of the National Assembly and at least 25 governorships in next year’s general elections.

The Forum commended the efforts of the National Chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, for his positive inpact in the party, reforming the party and uniting members despite the resolve of some few people to destroy the party because of their vaunting ambitions.

He said they will continue to support the party by informing and enlightening the public about good plans for the party.
