The National Youth Alliance (NYA) has formally aligned with the Action Democratic Party (ADP), declaring a joint ambition to produce a youth president.

The announcement was made during a world press conference held in Kano on Thursday, April 16, 2026, where the NYA President, Aliyu Bin Abbas, disclosed that the movement’s structures across the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, and all 774 local government areas have been collapsed into the ADP.

Abbas stated that the alliance signals a turning point in Nigeria’s political trajectory, stressing that the era of recycled leadership is fading, while a new generation driven by youthful energy and ideas is emerging to take charge of the nation’s future.

He acknowledged the financial limitations of the coalition when compared to dominant political parties but expressed confidence that the collective strength, numerical advantage, and resilience of Nigerian youths would drive the movement to electoral success in 2027.

The NYA leader further maintained that Nigeria’s challenges stem largely from poor leadership, insisting that the ADP offers a credible platform capable of harnessing the country’s vast human and natural resources for national development.

In his remarks, Kano State Secretary of ADP, Rabiu Pepsi Gwale, described the party as a stable and united platform, expressing optimism that with Abbas on the ballot, victory at the 2027 polls is achievable.

Gwale took a swipe at other political parties, alleging internal crises and credibility issues, while positioning ADP as a viable alternative for Nigerians seeking change.

The highpoint of the event featured cultural displays, including Hausa musical performances by Aki Prince Zaki and Aliyu Haidar, alongside a traditional Kilago performance, adding colour to the political gathering.
