The former Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on House of Representatives Matters, Hon Abdulrahaman Kawu Sumaila, on Saturday in Kano challenged the Federal Government to address social injustice, marginalization and inequality, so as to ensure enduring peace and stability in the country.

Kawu Sumaila, who is contesting for the Kano South Senatorial seat on the platform of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) gave the charge, while presenting his blue print to his constituents in Kano on Saturday.

According to him, the numerous agitations in the country is blamed on social injustice and inequality, noting that during his interaction, with some of the agitators, especially those from the South East, they complained of marginalization and non-inclusiveness, which informed their decision to clamor for secession.

Kawu Sumaila, who established the first Islamic University In Sumaila LGA of Kano State, Al-Istiqama University, expressed optimism that he will defeat the incumbent Senator Ibrahim KabIru Gaya, pointing out that for his 16 years sojourn in the Senate, Gaya has never held any town hall meeting with his immediate constituents.

He regretted that Senator Gaya only reaches out to members of his constituents, during election period, so as to garner their votes to recapture his seat in representing Kano South Senatorial District, comprising 16 of the 44 Local Government areas of Kano State.

“The power of incumbency is inconsequential; it will not save you to retain the Senate seat in the 2023 Senatorial race for 2023. Kawu Sumaila recalled that Senator Ibrahim Shekarau defeated in Kwankwaso in 2015 desipite Kwankwaso’s power of incumbency, as Kano Kano does not respect power of incumbency,”
