There was pandemonium in Kano state on Friday after a group of soldiers who stabbed an official of the State Road Traffic Agency, KAROTA went on rampage.
The military men numbering about four resorted to violence after they refused to obey the traffic officer while discharging his duty on B.U.K road by Dan Agundi.
The Managing Director, Kano Road Traffic Agency KAROTA, Hon. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi condemned the fracas between his personnel and the military men who went on Rampage on Friday.
The KAROTA officer who is currently battling for his life in the hospital was rescued by citizens who prevented the military men from executing him on the spot leading to the arrest of one while the others escaped.
“Trouble started when four military men in a tricycle refused to obey the traffic officer while discharging his duty on B.U.K road by Dan Agundi on Wednesday”.

“As if that was not enough, the military men again, today, mobilized and went back to our Goron Dutse WRECA outstation and brutalized any personnel on site, vandalizing our vehicles and those of the public under our custody and also went to the popular filing Idi all in search of our men”.
We condemn in the strongest terms these attacks by newly passed out soldiers posted to Kano which is become a yearly thing”.
“We have good relationship with them in the state and we hope their authorities will take necessary measures to address this issue”.
“We also thank the police who swiftly moved into action arresting some of these rampaging soldiers and the public who came to the rescue of our men from the soldiers brutality”.

“KAROTA shall continue to operate within its space according to the laws that constituted it and shall arrest any person who violates the traffic regulations of the state”.
