Operatives of the NSCDC, Kano command have arrested a couple, Ahmed Abdulkarim and Safiyya Shamsuddeen, residents of Na’ibawa Yankatako Quarters, Kano for allegedly maltreating their 14 years old housemaid, Nana Sha’una Yusuf.
Investigation by NSCDC revealed that the victim was seriously beating, insulted and molested by her employers which caused injuries and scars on her body, a trend that made her ran away and was found roaming on the street.
In a statement issued by DSC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, CDPRO Kano State command, Nana Sha’una Yusuf hailed from Kazaure local govt of Jigawa State.
“On interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the crimes and have since been arraigned before a court on count charges bordering on causing grievous hurt, unlawful labour and conspiracy.
