…. NNPP Reacts
A magistrate setting at court no 14 in Gyadi-Gyadi, Kano presided over by Mustapha Datti has remanded a 45 year old indigent of Dawakin Tofa, Governor Ganduje’s home town at Correctional Centre in Kano.
Tasiu Abdullahi Hayin Hago was arrested by the police following report from community members after he was sighted in possession of 29 permanent voter’s cards last week.
Bail application was not granted for Tasiu as INEC lawyers vehemently rejected the request.
Therefore, Magistrate Datti sent the suspect to prison and adjourned the case till Tuesday 31st January for hearing.
The opposition NNPP described the development as a milestone achievement towards sanitising 2023 general elections away from all possibility of Vote-Buying.
In a statement signed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Chief Spokesperson of the NNPP state campaign council, the party accused the ruling APC of making deliberate attempts to sabotage the forthcoming coming elections by disenfranchising the unsuspecting members of the society through purchase of PVCs.
