The ongoing investigation by Kano State Public Compliant and Anti-Corruption Commission, PCACC against former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje took a new turn on Tuesday.
The investigation met a set back after a Federal High Court sitting in Kano ruled that the Kano anti-graft agency, Kano Public Compliant and Anti-Corruption Commission, PCACC lacks the power to investigate the former Governor.
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was being investigated after allegedly appearing in a video where he was seeing stuffing dollars believed to be bribe into his dressing.
The presiding judge, Justice Abdullahi Liman while delivering his judgement said the offence is a federal offence that can be prosecuted by the Attorney General of Federation and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Adding that the Kano anti-graft agency has a limitation to investigate the former governor.
Meanwhile, speaking with newsmen shortly after the judgment, the counsel to anti-graft agency, Usman Umar Fari said they will challenge the judgment at the Court of Appeal.
