Kano State Government has deployed necessary mechanism to curtail growing cases of diphtheria disease in the state.
The State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf made this known while updating the public on the outbreak.
He said, a state as such as Kano should not be battling with such outbreak but failure of the previous administration to immunize the people exacerbated the situation.
Yusuf revealed that, over a hundred and thirty (130) persons were admitted this Monday alone as the case continues to grow.
The Commissioner however added that, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has since directed the ministry to swing into action to curtail the outbreak and three designated centres have been provided for treatment and admission.
He however called on the public not to hesitate to seek medical assistance anytime they experience any of the symptoms as listed by the NCDC.
