ECOWAS Must Avoid this War- Gambo Danpass

ECOWAS military decision to invade Niger Republic following a Coup de’etat has been condemned in strong terms.

Alh. Gambo Danpass, the Dansarar Kano made the condemnation today while reacting to the announcement by ECOWAS.

According to him, ECOWAS should have explored other ways of engaging the military junta in Niger for dialogue and compel them to hand over power to a democratic leader and not invasion.

He said, African leaders must understand that a time has come for the continent especially those colonized to break free from every form of indirect rules and stand for each other and never allow any foreign nation to plunge the continent into unrest.

Danpass added that the emancipation of African countries from their colonial masters will usher in an era of prosperity and economic boom adding that the exploitative relationship between Niger and France is not different from what is obtain in other African countries and their former masters.

The traditional title holder charged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be tactful and wary of the super powers who wants to chaos in the region for their selfish interests which might end up consuming Nigeria and not just Niger.

Alh. Gambo alleged that even in Nigeria, the slow pace of development witnessed for decades is not unconnected to policies of these foreign nation citing non functioning refineries in Nigeria as an example.

Furthermore, Dansarar Kano pleads with President Tinubu to take into consideration, the devastating and implications of the decision on northern part of the nation especially border states with Niger and influence the West African Body to explore more diplomatic ways.
