The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP in Kano have raised the alarm over plans by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to rig the state gubernatorial election slated for Saturday.
The party chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa during a press conference yesterday, also accused Ganduje of plans to manipulate supplementary election for Fagge Federal Constituency.
Doguwa stated that, information available to them at NNPP indicate that, plans are been made to unleash mayhem during the Saturday, March 11 election by the ruling APC over obvious fear of losing the election.
The party call on the President, International Communities and Security Agencies to be on the watchout for this heinous plan orchestrated by Ganduje and his team as the NNPP will resist such attempt and defend it’s mandate and or votes.

PRESS BRIEFING
ADDRESS BY THE CHAIRMAN OF NNPP, KANO STATE CHAPTER, HON. UMAR HARUNA DOGUWA
NNPP CALLS ON PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI GCFR, INEC CHAIRMAN, INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY, SECURITY AGENCIES TO WATCH OUT FOR PLANS BY GANDUJE’S ADMINISTRATION TO MANIPULATE SUPLEMENTARY ELECTION FOR FAGGE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY AND CAUSE MYHEM DURING THE UPCOMING GUBERNATORIAL AND STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN KANO
Date: Saturday 4th March, 2023
Protocols.
You are all aware that election was held on February 25, 2023 to elect House of Representative Member for Fagge Federal Constituency of Kano State where the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate Barr. Muhammad Bello Shehu Fagge, recorded 18, 415 votes which was the highest among the leading parties; Labour Party (LP)-12,729, All Progressive Congress (APC)-8,394 and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 6,546 as announced by the Collation Officer, Prof. Shehu Usman Yahya of Bayero University, Kano.
Results from fifteen (15) polling units were canceled by INEC due to over-voting and disruption of the process. These include: Army Day Primary School II-004, Gobirawa Primary School II-018, Jaba II-020, Kofar Dan Rimi I-023, Kofar Maiungwa-025, Kurna Gabas I-026, Kurna Gabas V–30, Mami Market IV-040, Mami Market II-042 Sabontiti D/Rimi-047, Sakwaya-048, Hajaratu Islamiyya-080, Kwanar Dan Rimi I-011, Kwanar Dan Rimi III-013, Asibitin Aminu-031.
The total number of collected PVCs for the affected 15 polling units is 9,901. The margin between the NNPP and LP is 5,686 which shows that the total number of the collected PVCs is higher than the margin between the NNPP and LP, indicating that supplementary election is required to determine the winner.
The Kano State NNPP has noticed that some attempts are being made by unscrupulous elements in conjunction with some INEC officials to manipulate the collated results as we also noticed improper conducts by some INEC adhoc staff.
We therefore, call on Presidency, security agencies, election observers, international community to beam their search light on INEC especially on the concluded position to conduct supplementary election in the 15 affected polling units. Any shift either in number of the polling units or continued cancellation of other polling units will meet our stiff resistance.
We are also aware that plans are being nursed and sponsored by the State government to cause total break down of law and order in the state during the upcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections. While we call on security agencies to take adequate measures on this, otherwise we as a party and citizens of Kano State have the capacity to defend ourselves and our votes.
Thank you
