The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Kano, condemns in totality, orchestrated attack on Barr. Muhuyi Magaji’s country home and the residents of other NNPP members in Rimingado community by thugs on rampage last night.
The Thugs believed to be sponsored by the APC government, invaded the community at 7pm after the NNPP state campaign team departed the area after a rally.
The NNPP sympathise with residents of the community over the unfortunate incidence that left many injured with properties worth millions vandalized, describing it as deliberate attempt by the APC to scare away voters ahead of 2023 general elections.
In a statement issued by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Chief Spokesperson, NNPP Kano State Campaign Council, described the attack as barbaric and inhumane to the dignity of the good people of Rimingado.
Sanusi Bature affirmed that, no amount of pressure will deter the party and shall take every necessary action against victimisation of innocent citizens on the oders of government officials who are supposed to protect the lives and properties of the general public.
“We are lucky, the police have arrested one of perpetrators of the attack who, on the process of his arrest injured a police officer with Rimingado division”
“We call for swift investigation and Arraignment of the suspected in custody believed to be the Gang Leader of the criminals”.
“NNPP would ensure that justice is given to the victims and other suspects, brought to book”.
When contacted, SP. Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesperson, Kano state police command, said, he was yet to receive report of the incident but promised to check with the Rimin Gado Station and revert.
However, as at the time of filing this report, Kiyawa didn’t provide feedback and didn’t answer calls to ascertain his findings.
