Palliatives: Kano to Disturb Grains Worth N1.6 Billion, 5 Trucks of Rice

Kano State Government said it has purchased grains for Mass distribution as part of efforts to mitigate hardship amongst it’s people.

The Governor of the State, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf who made this known today during the states executive council meeting said 1.6 Billion was expended on the purchase.

He said, his administration is highly disturbed by the ongoing hardship as a result of the effects of subsidy removal, hoping that palliative will provide a bit of relief for the populace in need.

However, Abba While appreciating the efforts of President Tinubu’s Federal government initiative on palliatives, plead for a review on the sharing formula adding that, special consideration should be  given to Kano  considering it’s large population compared to other states.

Furthermore, the state governor revealed that his administration is working out a scheme to empower rural women in livestock business geared towards self-reliance and source of livelihood.
