The Northwest Zonal National Vice Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Hayatu Gwarzo said the party will triumph in 2027 elections.
Hayatu stated this on Saturday in Kano during the party’s delegate congress at Sabon Gari Stadium where about five thousand delegates casted their votes for various positions.
According to him, the congress was conducted to the laws enshrined in the party’s constitution and as approved by the National Executive Board.
The former senator who spoke in high spirit expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will make a good outing across the country in the 2027 general elections.
“We are trying to creat a solid foundation that will revive the party in the state and across the nation.
We want to ensure all hands are on deck which will guarantee our victory in the forthcoming elections as hope to deliver dividend of democracy to the people as evident from our past records”.
However, Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo emphasized that PDP in the state remains one formidable force as such anyone claiming a faction does not have a place in the party.
In the same vein, the chairman electoral panel, Hon. Halilu Abubakar Mazagani delegated by the party’s national headquarters to witness the congress applauded the party officials at the state level for a job well done.
He said, the smooth conduct of the congress is an indication that PDP will soon settle existing differences between some persons within the party with the view for a better and stronger opposition that can defeat the ruling party.
In his words; ” Our party being the largest in Africa no doubt will face some internal challenges but as always, we have learnt to manage our differences.
I assure you today that we are working hard to ensure unity and we are mobilizing like never before to ensure our success in the forthcoming 2027 general elections which I can confidently say the people will vote us, so it is now left to us to present them with credible candidates like we have done before and we wish to improve on that”, he added.
Speaking also at the event, Dr. Umar Musa Mustapha an elder of the party who represented former governor of the State, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau said the party will produce a wining team.
Though not a party officials, Mustapha noted that the PDP is a party to contest with and not afraid to challenge any other party in any election process either in the upcoming Local Government Poll or in the country.
There are 39 available seats to be filled during the congress while four offices which include; office of the chairman, Organizing Secretary, Ex-officio Kano south (male) and Ex-officio Kano south (female) were contested for.
