The faction which is made up of Senator, Ibrahin Shekarau, Kano Central, Alhaji Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe,(member Representing tofa, Rimin gado,and Dawakin tofa, Honourable Ibrahim Sha’aban Sharada (member Representing Kano Municipal) conducted the Congress election at Janguza in Tofa Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking on behalf of the law makers who fell apart with the Gandujiya Faction of the Party, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe vow that they would not allow anybody to derail the party from the path to victory in the State.
According to him, “officials from national body have conducted the elections and we have casted our votes.
“We (our leader, Senator Ibrahim Shekaru, Senator Barau Jibril and myself) will not allow anybody to derail this party. APC party shall not fail in Kano. It will remain a winning party in Kano State.
“We call on all supporters in Kano to rally round and support the elected Chairman to ensure we emerge victorious in 2023 just like we did in 2019,” Jobe said.
Confirming the election, the overseer of the election from APC national Headquarters Sani Bello said the election was conducted Peacefully, and Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago Emerged the Party Chairman.
However, there was heavy presence of security personnel comprising of Nigeria Police, Civil Defense Corps and the DSS who barricaded both the Sani Abacha Youth Centre and the Mumbaya House where the Shekarau Faction earlier planned to hold their congress preventing both supporters and journalists from entering the venue.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas remains the APC Chairmanship candidate in the Gandujiya camp without any co Contestant as a result of earlier consensus reached to vote for him as the chairman.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje while addressing supporters and delegates drawn from the 44LGAs of the State said ” we are aware some disgruntled elements may hold another congress somewhere else.”
“As far as APC is concerned, the Congress being held today, at this venue is the one recognized by the national body.
