The Chairman, Kano State Taskforce on Waste Evacuation, Alh. Ahmadu Haruna Danzago has called on the people of Kano State to support the the state government in clearing huge waste in the state by stopping the habit of indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
Danzago made the call on Monday while supervising waste evacuation at Jakara Quarters, Kano State.
According to him, so far, no fewer than 630 tons of refuse has been evacuated from the area and a total of 4000 tons evacuated around the state as a whole.
According to him, people must understand that the act of dumping refuse indiscriminately is forbidden even Islamically.
He said, the Governor of the state, Engr. Abba Kabir would not relent at ensuring the area, which has suffered from refuse dump hitherto is cleared of the menace.
The Chairman of the Taskforce added that the exercise is very important to the state governor who has good plans for the people of the state in terms of their health and we’ll being.
He charged the people to avoid further dumping of refuse which has almost blocked road access in the area adding that the case would have been worse especially as the rainy season sets in.
