A Kano State Gubernatorial Aspirant under the platform of the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Inuwa Waya has revealed four important sectors he consider crucial in the development of any state and would accord them special attention if elected into office comes 2023.
He identified the sectors to include; education, health, agriculture and the manufacturing industries.
According to Waya, his decision to join politics was born out of his personal belief that more development is needed and to achieve this, proper and qualitative education is needed and has been the central theme for his campaign.
” We would build on the laudable free and compulsory education from primary to secondary school level as initiated by the present state government.
” The free education means more obligation, reallocation of resources and burden for the government and that is why my campaign organization decided to stepped in to assist the government by penetrating the public schools.
” Education as you know is the bedrock on which every developed society is built and without it, you can’t interact properly with the society let alone even know your God and how to serve him.
” We have been assisting most especially, the children of the poor and orphans by distributing to them, textbooks, writing materials, uniforms, bags and hijabs and this gesture extends to our Islamic and Tsangaya schools that runs formal Islamic education”.
” We have also designed scholarship scheme where we encourage students to participate in quiz and debates and winners are rewarded with materials, gadgets and scholarships for both students and teachers and we hope to continue it if we are lucky and elected as public officials,” Inuwa added.
Speaking further, the gubernatorial aspirant promised a more robust primary healthcare system by equipping the hospitals and complement the present Cancer Centre under construction in the State by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje by building another world class heart or kidney center.
Other areas to consider under the health sector are; child care delivery and maternity system, infectious diseases and creation of effective community health system.
Inuwa, also stated that modern form of agriculture would be encouraged and adopted by his government to boost food production, food security and thereby provide job opportunities for the teeming youths in the State.
That the manufacturing industry particularly the private sector which help relieve the government of employment burden will be assisted to function by encouraging more public-private-partnership.
” I’m a transformer, I have transformed companies where I worked. I’m one of the best if not the best and you will see when the time comes,” he said.
