Wild jubilation broke out in Kano shortly after the declaration of Abba Yusuf Kabir of NNPP as the elected governor of the state in the Saturday elections.
Youths, women and children took to the streets to celebrate Abba’s victory despite the 24Hours curfew imposed on the state to forestall the breakdown of law and order that might arise from the development.
A drive around major streets shows large number of people dancing and singing with the climax of it happening at Kwankwaso’s Miller Road residence where the fanfare and joyous mood of the celebrants cannot be contained.
However, business premises, banks, markets and other public places remain shut in compliance with the curfew order.
Security personnel from different Agencies are currently mounting road blocks while others are on patrol to ensure peace in the state.
Abba Gida-Gida who contested and lost in controversial circumstances in 2019 under PDP to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, defeated APC’s Gawuna with 1019602 votes while while Gawuna pulled 8,92705 votes.
