We said it, it is now happening in the North

Our hearts are heavy, but we are not surprised.
When Malama Ummulkhairi was brutally lynched, Blazon News Nigeria did not merely report the tragedy, we raised an alarm.
We warned that if the culture of jungle justice was allowed to flourish unchecked, it would not end with one victim. We cautioned that silence, indifference and the failure to punish those responsible would only pave the way for another senseless killing.
Today, that painful warning has become reality.
Another man has reportedly been lynched in Kano by an angry mob. Another family has been thrown into mourning. Another life has been cut short not by a court of law, not after a fair hearing, but by people who appointed themselves judge, jury and executioner.
How many more lives must be sacrificed before those in authority wake up? How many more mothers must bury their children? How many more innocent people must die because of rumours, suspicion or unverified accusations?
This is no longer just a security concern. It is a moral crisis. It is a dangerous stain on the conscience of Northern Nigeria, a region renowned for its deep religious values, respect for human dignity and reverence for justice. No religion, no culture and no law permits the murder of a fellow human being by an angry crowd.
The silence that follows every mob killing is becoming deafening. Condemnation alone is no longer enough. Every perpetrator of jungle justice must be identified, arrested and prosecuted. Until that happens, every failure to enforce the law sends a dangerous message that mob violence is acceptable.
At Blazon News Nigeria, we refuse to normalise this barbarity. We will continue to speak for those whose voices have been silenced forever. We will continue to remind leaders that justice delayed is an invitation to more bloodshed.
We said it after the painful death of Malama Ummulkhairi. We are saying it again today: if decisive action is not taken now, another headline announcing another lynching is only a matter of time.
The North deserves better. Our people deserve better. Justice, not jungle justice must prevail before this dangerous culture consumes us all.
