The Amirul Hajj of Kano State and Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, has expressed satisfaction with the quality and nutritional value of meals being served to Kano pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, urging the food vendor to maintain the standard throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Dr. Abdulkadir made the call after inspecting the facilities of Da’am Almawasem Nima Kitchen Company, where he and members of his delegation were taken through the various stages of food preparation before meals are delivered to pilgrims. He commended the hygienic environment and quality of the food, stressing the need for consistency.
“I am convinced by the hygiene and quality of the meals being prepared for our pilgrims. The vendor should sustain this standard and ensure it is not merely for inspection purposes,” he said.
The Deputy Amirul Hajj and Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz, also praised the quality of the meals but urged the company to improve on timely delivery, noting that some pilgrims had complained about delays in receiving their food.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, applauded the vendor’s efforts and urged the management to justify the confidence reposed in it by maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Also speaking, the Commander-General of Hisbah, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, commended the company and advised it to consider including traditional Hausa delicacies such as Kuka soup in its menu to give pilgrims a taste of home during their stay in the Kingdom.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Da’am Almawasem Nima Kitchen Company, Alhaji Nur Idris Saleh, assured the delegation that all meals are prepared in line with Saudi Arabian health and hygiene standards. The details were contained in a statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Head of the Kano Media Team for Hajj Operation 2026.
