The Chief Press Secretary to Kano State Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, has returned 60,000 Saudi Riyals mistakenly paid to him as excess allowance for members of the Kano State 2026 Hajj Media Team.
Mustapha returned the funds to the Kano State Amirul Hajj, Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, (Emir of Gaya) after discovering that the amount exceeded his approved entitlement, a move aimed at preventing the official responsible for the payment from incurring financial loss.
Speaking to Blazon News Nigeria on the development, the governor’s spokesman expressed gratitude to Allah for granting him the strength to resist what he described as the temptation of taking what was not rightfully his.
He said he has always strived to earn and live by lawful means, emphasizing the importance of honesty and accountability in all dealings.
“I thank Allah for giving me the grace to overcome the temptation of Haram and to always strive for Halal. Wealth acquired unlawfully has no blessing, and every Muslim should be conscious of their accountability before Allah,” he said.
Mustapha further urged members of the public to cultivate the fear of Allah in their daily lives and remain committed to doing the right thing regardless of the circumstances. According to him, integrity, sincerity and obedience to divine teachings remain essential virtues for building a just and prosperous society.
