The Commissioner of Education Kano state, Rt Hon. Ya’u Abdullahi Yan’shana has described the Executive Secretary Science and Technical Schools Board, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi as a Committed and Determine leader.
He said having leaders with vast experience, zeal and initiative like the Executive Secretary of the Board in promoting the development of Science and Technical education will no doubt move the education sector to a greater heights.
According to the Director Public Enlightenment Ministry of Education Kano State, Aliyu Yusuf, in a press release on Thursday, the Commissioner was speaking during the routine meeting with the parastatals under the supervision of the State ministry of Education.
Rt. Hon. Yan’shana noted that despite the financial inadequacy in running the affairs of the board, the Executive Secretary has brought initiatives that complimented the government’s gesture in running the affairs of the Board.
While further commending the Executive Secretary for the good work he has been doing, he urged him to sustain the tempo so that others will emulate from him.
The Commissioner also said that the revelations made by the ES has given him an insight on how to look for possible solutions to the problems outlined.
Speaking earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi said that the board wich was established to among other things coordinate the activities of Science and Technical Schools and colleges in the state required more government attention so as to maintain it’s Glory.
He explained that despite all the financial hitches, the board under his stewardship has not drailled from it’s constitutional obligations.
Malam Ahmad further explained that with the little the board is realizing through its little internally generated revenue and certain interventions it’s mandates are still been observed.
He told the Commissioner that the management and staff of the board have been very supportive and disciplined fellows whose cooperation has made him to record a lot of successes.
According to him, for the board to record it’s successes , he has to initiate and maintained certain strategies such as restoration of Academic Excellence and Discipline, improving Teachers and Teaching Qualities as well as improving the revenue generation derive of the board.
Other initiatives he stated are creating conducive learning atmosphere, improving teacher-students interpersonal relationship and stakeholders involvement among others.
While soliciting for the Commissioner’s interventions in the funding and restoration of other activities of the board, he assured their unflinching support to the Commissioner.
