As part of its efforts towards the fight against breast cancer, female journalists in Kano State under the auspices of Nigerian Union of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has teamed up with other stakeholders to combat the killer disease.
Hafsat Sani, State Chairperson, NAWOJ Kano Chapter, while on a medical outreach at a community in Takai Local Government Area of the State said, the group and its partners were out to create awareness and offer medical support to mitigate the menace of breast cancer in the state.
She said, unfortunately, the disease which treatable has claimed the lives of many women who are more susceptible to it due to lack of knowledge, stable and consistent support.
Hafsat advocate for consistent commitment from government at all levels and other relevant stakeholders so as to eradicate the disease from our societies and help the women live their lives to the fullest.
Furthermore, Sani, called on women to make it a habit to have have their breasts examined monthly as well as their general health status in order to dictate early the disease and other for early treatment which according to her saves life.
