The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed allegations that it sold 69 nomination forms to former Kano State Governor to facilitate a takeover of the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The allegation was made by Abdulkadir Guza, who claimed that Kwankwaso had procured the forms as part of a plan to “hijack” the party. However, the PRP described the claim as false and baseless.
Speaking with journalists on Monday, PRP Secretary, , said all party positions had already been filled following the conclusion of primary elections. He noted that it was illogical for anyone to be discussing nomination forms after the completion of the party’s internal electoral process.
“As it stands, all positions in PRP have been filled. Primary elections are over, and every political party has concluded its primaries,” Maigari said. He further stated that the individual behind the allegation was not a member of the PRP and therefore lacked the authority to speak on the party’s affairs.
The party secretary also maintained that there was no record of any transaction involving nomination forms between the PRP and Kwankwaso or any of his representatives. He described the allegation as an attempt to mislead the public and create unnecessary controversy around the party.
Maigari urged members of the public to disregard what he called baseless rumours and to rely only on information released through the party’s official channels.
