Former Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Hon. Abdurrahman Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, who made the call, said this would people of Kano south to achieve their desired goals in electing the leaders of their choice.
Hon. Sumaila, who was also a former member of the House of Representatives for Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency, is currently contesting for Senator (Kano south senatorial district) under the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP.
The call was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Sumaila’s media aid, Alhaji Ashiru Shehu Kachako.
According to the statement, Hon Sumaila charged electorates to always focus on electing credible leaders that will bring dividends of democracy closer to them, urging them to sensitize community members on the importance of electing good leaders.
“You should remember there is no way you can vote credible leaders without obtaining your voters cards. I am therefore calling on you to ensure that you all collect tyour voters cards before the commencement of election, so that you will have the right of voting leaders of your choice on the day of election.
“This is your civic right and you should not joke with it. Your vote is your right. Therefore, you should ensure that you collect your vote and keep it in a safe place. During election, I urged you to vote only credible leaders that will work for your development and not those that will work themselves and their children,” Kawu empathized.
The NNPP’s senatorial candidate, promised that if elected as senator, he will boost the economy of Kano South senatorial district by encouraging the teeming unemployed youth to embarrass skills acquisitions, saying that will enable them to become self-reliant.
