Barely two days to the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, six Senatorial Candidates from Kano North Senatorial district have pulled out of the race for Sen. Barau Jibril.
The Senatorial Candidates are; Dr. Aliyu Zakirai, PRP, Hon. Sanusi Ahmad Baffa, ZLP, Shehu Nuhu Abdullahi, NRM, Muhammad Shuaibu , APM, Abdulkarim Isa Jarma, ADP and Ashiru Ahmad of ACC.
According to Dr. Aliyu Zakirai who spoke on behalf of the other candidates in Kano on Thursday said, the decision was a unanimous one between them after much consultations on who to support for the development of Kano North.
He said, their decision to support Barau is as a result of major projects executed by the Senator such as the the Kabuga-Dayi road, establishment of F.C.E Technical, kabo as well as the upgrade of Collage of Agriculture Danbatta and F.C.E Bichi to universities.
Zakirai added that, voting a new senator from the area will cause a set back to the numerous development witnessed in Kano North under the representation of Senator Jibril Barau.
He called on all party members and supporters of all the five parties to rally round Barau and ensure they cast their votes for him during the Saturday elections.
“He has done well in education, health, empowerment and infrastructure”.
“We have decided to support him after we came to the conclusion that if we must continue to succeed, we must give him another chance to continue and conclude some of his laudable projects”.
“His return to the Senate will further yield better results, We urge all our supports to cast their votes for him and ensure his victory”, he added.
